I decided to start Blogging because I couldn’t find what I was looking for. I would go through different things and seasons in my life and I would find all the stats and good information… which I love, but I needed more. So much more!! So, like a good Big Sister… I’m gonna give you MORE!!
A lot of times as adults, we are so busy doing life. Set the alarm, wake up, drink your coffee or get it to go, so you’re not driving like a drunk driver because you were up and down all night with babies or puking kids or depending on what season of life, your HOT FLASHES! Go to work or stay home and work your butt off! Get home, make dinner or pick it up. Eat while you clean the house. Have to run the kids to sports or help an elderly parent. You get the point. Man I’m tired all ready!!!
We don’t have time for ourselves or hanging out with friends! Whats that? Sometimes we just need to cozy up on the couch with our bestie and pour our heart out! If we did, we might find out, she feels the same way. Face it ladies, even though women can be annoying with jealousy and competition and drama!! By the way… Don’t be that mean girl!! We need each other. We need to share our experiences, our hurts, our pains, our success, and our failures. So, cozy up where ever your at, and lets talk;)
Like most women… I LOVE secrets; ) So I thought I would share some of my SECRETS with you… I don’t know what you were thinking but I was thinking, BEAUTY SECRETS 😉 and they start in the shower!!!
If your like me, I NEVER have a enough time in the day. So taking care of me can get put on the back burner… Before you know it things are out of control!! So, I want to share things I do that don’t take a lot of time and we can do even if our lives are CRAZY BUSY!
Quick Tip #1
Everyone should be able to get pedicures. But sometimes it doesn’t fit in the budget or doesn’t fit in the schedule. I’ve had gift cards to amazing places to get a pedicure but I can’t carve out the time!! Before you know its sandal season and you have alligator feet and TARZAN TOES! No body likes that…Nobody!
So one of the the things I always have in the shower is a pumice stone or pumice sponge. They are SUPER inexpensive! No matter what your budget, you can do this!
At the end of your shower, after your feet have been in the water for a while… they soften up and you can scrub off all the dead skin! Get your heals real good and scrub your whole foot, toes and everything! When you get out of the shower, make sure to put lotion on your feet. Not too much, or that feels gross in your socks LOL, but enough to moisturize them.
So were all supposed to be FLOSSING our teeth right! Well I have found that if you take a FLOSS PICK in the shower with you, you wont forget to Floss and it actually does an amazing job!
I’M TALKING ABOUT THESE LITTLE GUYS 😉
There’s a technique though… to get the most bang for your buck! So the deal is, you want to use the water spraying out of the shower as well as the Floss Pick… The Idea is like…as if you had one of those really cool, amazing tooth brushes that SHOOT WATER at the same time it brushes 🙂
You let the water hit your teeth, where your flossing and it CLEANS your teeth SO GOOD! Now… you still need to BRUSH obviously… which I do when I’m out of the shower. Try it, you will be amazed how much better it works then just flossing and brushing alone:o!
Also be careful not to choke on the water… LOL… I’ve done that;) Don’t let the water shoot down your throat. Just let it hit your teeth with the Floss Pick.
So the next time you go to the dentist you wont have to feel so embarrassed and get the dreaded shame on you lecture, when they say… open wide :O
Growing up, I battled oily skin and all the issues that come with it. To name a few…large pores, acne, make-up seemed to melt right off my face by the end of the day!
So, I learned right away you have to take care of your skin. With busy lives, and the stress that comes with that, our skin can get very neglected, and it starts to show the effects on our face really quickly! Sometimes even my face needs caffeine! You know what I mean!
So I found that the quickest way to exfoliate and wake up your face is just getting back to the basics. Just a regular Ole WASH CLOTH!

I think with all the fancy stuff we have tried and all the fabulous soaps and scrubs we’ve lost sight of somethings, that really did work!
The technique that works the best is actually no facial cleaner… yet. half way through your shower time grab a fresh wash cloth wet it down with your steaming hot shower water and then rub your face in a circular motion. Starting in your T- Zone. If you don’t know what that is, its the forehead, nose and chin area.
The fibers in the fabric are just the right texture to clean your pores and lift all the gunk out of them and its just the right texture to exfoliate all the dead and dry skin.
Its seriously makes your face look fresh and glowing. Next I follow up with my favorite cleanser right before I’m done. If you apply the cleanser first, it will coat the wash cloth and you wont get the same effect.
When you get out of the shower, follow up with your favorite moisturizer! Your face will thank you for the extra attention!
I decided to make my first devotional from the title of a song I love! It’s called Way Maker.
If you’re a Christian you know God is the Way Maker, but when we go through difficult times in our life, do we really believe in our heart that God is the Way Maker? As I’m asking you this, I’m also asking myself this.
I think about the times when my children would be playing and fall down, and get hurt. Sometimes they would run to me, but sometimes they would run away from me and didn’t want me to look at it or touch it. They would be screaming and crying in pain and they wouldn’t let me help.
How many times do we do that to God? How many times do we do that to ourselves?!
Life can be very hard. Some people go through things that I can’t even imagine. Through our good times and bad. Through our small struggles and the biggest battles of our life. Our heavenly Father wants us to run to Him when we are hurting, run to Him when we are suffering and can’t see how were going to get through another day. God wants to scoop us up and clean our wounds and make us whole. God wants relationship with us. He wants us to crawl up in His lap and grab his face and say Daddy it hurts!
He is right there! He will never leave you or forsake you. I challenge you to run to him with everything! Every hurt, pain, fear, and question. Nothing is too big for God! He is the Way Maker.
Well, where do I start? First, I wouldn’t be who I am without my Savior Jesus Christ! He saved me and set me free! I’ve made it through valleys and pushed through the darkness to climb hills and mountains. I am better for it. We all have a story! I want to speak life into the lives of women no matter what your religion or background. I want to bring humor and a brighter perspective to every reader.
I’m an only child. My mom has taught me so much and is my biggest fan! No matter what trials, life has thrown at us, we have faced them together. I know she loves me more than life. My husband Rocco, and I have been married for 29 years. We met at a Little Caesars Pizza when I was sixteen years old! Crazy how time flies! We’ve been through so many things together. We pretty much grew up together! I used to tell him I loved him too much! He would say, “there’s no way I could love him more than he loves me.”
So, I put in the about me section that I’m a mom of 4 daughters. I absolutely LOVE having all girls! First of all, I know how they think, good and bad, LOL. I’ve been there done that. I love their sweetness, their drive and their love for their mom and dad ;).
Now that I have had that experience with all those girls, and an estrogen overload, I’m blessed with five grandsons and one granddaughter. My granddaughter “Lucy Blue” is a beautiful and sassy princess! I asked her mom, Amber, ” How does it feel to give birth to your sister Jessy.” Lucy Blue is just like her Aunt Jessy! My Grandsons Noah, Brody, Axl, Corbin, and Everett have also boldly taken the stage in their Memaw and Pappys heart.
I cannot describe how much I love my grand babies! There is just not enough words. I would hear people talk about their grandchildren, and I don’t think you truly understand the love of a grand parent until you are one. I Believe God hides that place in your heart until they get here, and then when they arrive… that LOVE is bigger than you are!
I also have some grand-paws/fur babies. My fourteen -year -old daughter Jasmine, has Gray-son and Rosie. My daughter Faith and my son in-love Matt, have an adorable love for animals, and we just love them all Razz, Riley and Sophie. My daughter Jessy and my son in-love Dakota have Reptar and my daughter Amber and my son -in-love John have LuLu! Shout out to all the FUR BABIES!!
